The mysterious woman in black was seen strolling along the busy roads in parts of the United States. Midwest and Southeast are curious to know who she is. A spurred social media site is also asking who the mysterious quiet woman is.
The police, TV stations, and her followers on the web have nicknamed her “Woman in Black." On Facebook page, she has been tracked walking nearly 500-mile journey with a walking stick in hand and a black bag. Since July 18th, she has walked through Ranger, Georgia, Athens and Ohio.
One of the posts of the Facebook that had 19,000 followers was asking people to be kindhearted to the woman. The post said "If you meet this woman, kindly, give her a meal, drink, whatever it may be you feel she requires. Be kind. Be hospitable,"
Some TV stations have covered the mysterious woman when she has already passed through. Some believe that the woman who hardly ever speaks might be on a religious mission. In Sullivan County, Tennessee, an NBC affiliate said the woman told deputies there that she is a Muslim and worked at the pentagon. However, the deputies did not believe it.
About four years ago, Elizabeth Poles spent time in the Veterans Affairs hospital before relocating to a place close to her brother in Phoenix City, Alabama.
Raymond said that Elizabeth was doing great for the first three months. She could attend church on Sunday’s and also visit the nearby VA hospital for checkups. He said that one time she begun walking from the hospital and also begun popping to his house. Raymond said that one night his sister went to his place and started cursing.
He recalls vividly when his sister shaved her head and declined to go to church. He said Elizabeth has not been seen for months. Raymond said that Elizabeth is kindhearted and loving woman, and he wishes she could come back and let them help her.
