Dr. Kent Brantly Update: He Said 'God Will Deliver Me From This'

Dr. Kent Brantly with his family

In our previous post about Dr. Kent Brantly, we wrote the Doctor was in critical condition due to the Ebola virus infection. Dr. Kent was infected while working in Liberia with Samaritan’s Purse. He however remains hopeful that God heal him.
Dr. Brantly told Kent Smith, one of the elders at the South Central Alliance Churches, that he believed that God will deliver him from the deadly disease, and even if He doesn’t, he has no regrets whatsoever since he lived his life serving humanity because of Christ.

Brantly’s mother said that the situation was very stressing. She said that Kent is a compassionate and good man, and he’s doing what he’s always loved to do in his life. She said that Kent has placed his life on God’s loving hands, and their love is in God who sustains them. She added that they constantly pray  for Brantly and that they also ask the whole world to pray for him. Brantly is a brave man and does what he does to serve his Creator, and so we are soliciting people to pray, said Dr Brantly’s mother.

Both Dr. Brantly and his wife Amber were working in Liberia as medical missionaries. The wife however went back to the States with their two kids for a planned visit with family. Brantly has remained in Liberia, so as to received medical attention.

In one of his emails, Dr. Kent Brantly wrote that he was praying fervently that God would help him survive the horrible disease. In the same email, he also asked people to pray for Nancy Writebol. Nancy is an American co-worker who is also ailing from the deadly disease. She helped to disinfect the protective suits worn by the doctors in the isolation rooms. The investigation on how Brantly contacted the disease has not bored any fruits yet.
